Peoria Road/Storm conditions

Due in no small part to the overnight efforts of the Public Works Department, Peoria came through the storm in relatively good shape. The following is a summary of current conditions relating to the storm:

Road Closures

99th Ave between Olive and Butler (local flooding)
Jomax West of 107th Avenue (unimproved wash crossing)
Jomax - Terramar to 83rd/ Westwing Boulevard (west of Fire Station)
79th Avenue North of Olive (Hatcher to Cotton Crossing)
SR 74 (Carefree Highway Closed from I-17 to SR 60)

Traffic Restrictions

91st Avenue - Olive to Monroe (Center lanes are open)

Traffic signals
NONE

As you are aware Public Works – Utilities staff worked through the night to address storm related incidents as they occurred.

Stormwater Basins

Staff mitigated potential damage from various stormwater retention basins which were filling from the long rainfall event. These included:
• Pumping 82nd at Shangri La
• Monitoring 73rd at Mtn View
• Monitoring 73rd at Redfield
• Monitoring 104th at Alice (Country Meadows)
• Monitoring 79th North of Olive (Hatcher to Cotton Crossing)

Water Reclamation Facilities
Water Reclamation Facilities were monitored for increased flows related to the storm. There were no overflows or serious problems.

• Beardsley - reached max influent flow of 8 mgd
• Butler - peak hour flows about 1.5 - 2.0 mgd above normal
• Jomax - increased flow of approximately 100,000 gallons above normal
