The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for portions of North and Central Georgia until 11pm in anticipation of a strong cold front approaching the state. Severe thunderstorms are expected this evening through the early morning hours. Primary hazards include strong winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes.

A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of a tornado in the forecasted area. Residents should stay alert to rapidly changing weather conditions and monitor local media and/or NOAA weather radio for further statements and later warnings if required.
