Several atmospheric conditions including a weak warm front and an upper level disturbance will cause the formation of scattered thunderstorms across North and Central Georgia this afternoon and evening.

Storms can be expected across the forecast area between 4pm – 10pm.

Primary hazards will be damaging winds, frequent lightning and quarter size hail.

Those in the threatened area are urged to review severe weather safety rules and emergency plans. You should listen to local media outlets and/or NOAA weather radio for later statements.

If you have outside activities scheduled this afternoon/evening pay close attention to rapidly changing weather conditions and seek adequate shelter if thunder and/or lightning occurs.
