Stolen items were recovered following the arrest of car burglary suspects on February 11th in the 8600 block of Graves Avenue. Witnesses to the crime came forward and told deputies they saw two men removing items from a car. Deputies searched the surrounding area and contacted two men matching the description of the suspects given by the witnesses.
Hoss Gassaway and Richard Thomas were booked on multiple charges including vehicle burglary. They were found to be in possesion of stolen property from other car burglaries.

The Sheriff's Department would like to thank the witnesses for their assistance in identifying the suspects in the car burglaries. This is an example of how community partnership can help solve crimes.

As of Feburary12, 2013, nine people have reported car burglaries in the Santee area. With the recovery of stolen items, deputies are requesting victims to contact the Santee Sheriff's Station to identify stolen property.
