Oakland Police Make Arrests

On March 25, 2013, at 9:45 PM, Oakland Police officers responded to the area of Alcatraz and Telegraph Avenue on a report of an armed robbery. The victim and witnesses were able to direct officers to an AC Transit bus that the suspects used as their getaway vehicle. Officers were able to detain and arrested the three juveniles
(two males and one female) in connection with the robbery. Officers recovered the victim’s property, an iPad and cell phone. One of the suspects was in possession of and a replica gun.

On March 26, 2013, at 9:15 PM, Oakland Police responded to the 2000 block of 27th Avenue on a report of an armed robbery and assault. The victims told the officers that they were approached by three suspects on foot. All three suspects were armed with handguns and robbed the victims at gunpoint. During the robbery,
one of the gunmen and a victim were involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation, the suspect struck the victim with the firearm, causing the gun to discharge. It was reported that the bullet penetrated a window of the house. There were no reports of the round striking a person.
The suspects fled with the loss. Officers were able to apprehend two male adult suspects; the third is still outstanding. Officers recovered an illegally possessed, loaded firearm from one of the suspects, along with the victims’ cell phone and other property.

On March 28, 2013, at 10:20 PM, Oakland Police responded to the 1900 block of 14th Avenue on a report of an armed robbery. The victim told the police that he had been robbed at gunpoint and physically assaulted by one of the suspects, who hit him with the gun during the robbery. Both suspects fled from the scene on bicycles. With assistance from the victim and witnesses, who provided descriptions and direction of the suspects, officers were able to apprehend one male adult suspect in connection with the armed robbery. Officers recovered the victim’s loss.
