Chariot Fire 
This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with an emergency message and evacuation information on July 8th.
There is a wildfire burning in the Mount Laguna area. There is concern the fire may spread to your area. If you live between the 8000 and 12000 block of Sunrise Highway, you are being advised to evacuate due to the fire.
El Prado, Horse Heaven, Laguna Campgrounds, Al Bahr Shrine Camp and the Foster Lodge remain under evacuation.
You may proceed to a temporary evacuation point set up by the Red Cross at Joan McQueen Middle School located at 2001 Tavern Road in Alpine. You can bring small animals to the school.
County Animal Control says horse owners can proceed to the:

You must stay to care for your animals.

Sunrise Highway is closed from Highway 79 to Old Highway 80.
The Chariot Fire started Saturday, July 6th and has burned 3,000 acres. It has jumped Sunrise Highway near Mount Laguna campground.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is working in partnership with CAL FIRE, U.S Forest Service, California State Parks and the San Diego County Fire Authority.
