Catalytic Conveters Thefts - Poway 
Thieves are targeting the catalytic converters of parked cars in Poway.
Detectives say between July 13 and July 17, 2013, eight catalytic converters have been stolen from vehicles in the City of Poway. Thieves have targeted Toyota Tundra and Tacoma trucks and stolen their catalytic converters which are bolted onto the vehicles undercarriages. The thefts have occurred at night, between 6:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
The areas, within the City of Poway, where the thefts have occurred are:
12000 block of Conley Street
13000 block of Arikara Drive
13000 block of Frame Road
13000 block of Robison Blvd
13000 block of Sam o Reno Road
The cost to replace a catalytic converter is between $800 and $1000. It is believed the thieves are stealing them, removing the metals and selling them to recycling businesses.
