There is increased law enforcement activity in these areas following a chase and crash. It all started around 2:30 this afternoon as deputies from the Vista Sheriff's Station and members of the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force (FTF) were attempting to arrest a wanted felon. The suspect's name is Julio Cruz (DOB: 9/21/1971).
It's unclear at this time how the pursuit started. At some point during the chase, a deputy in a patrol car with lights and sirens on was hit by another car at the intersection of Hacienda and South Emerald Drives in Vista. The deputy was not hurt.
The suspect also caused two car crashes in the area.
The suspect is now believed to be in the 4200 block of Tiberon Drive in Oceanside. Multiple agencies are currently assisting to bring this situation to a peaceful end. This is a developing situation, thank you for your cooperation.
