San Diego Wildfires

The Sheriff's Department is currently assisting with several fires burning across San Diego County. Right now, 120 Sheriff's Deputies are working with fire crews and other law enforcement agencies. More deputies are expected to be called in throughout the night.

*The Poinsettia Fire in Carlsbad, which is burning west of El Camino Real and South of Palomar Airport Road.

*The Camp Pendleton Fire, which is burning in the DeLuz area of Camp Pendleton moving west of Fallbrook.

*The Highway Fire, which is burning near Old Highway 395 and Interstate 15 in Bonsall. An evacuation center has been set up at Fallbrook High School located at 2400 South Stage Coach Lane. Large animals can be taken to Oceanside Ivy Ranch at 110 Rancho Del Oro in Oceanside, Cloverdale Ranch at 2460 Cloverdale Road in Escondido or Warner Ranch at 10950 Pala Road in Pala.

*The Bernardo Fire, which is burning west of Black Mountain Ranch. The fire is 50 percent contained.

*The San Marcos Fire, which is burning near Lake Hodges. Cal State San Marcos, as well as the communities of North San Elijo Hills, Discovery Hills, Discovery Meadows and Coronado Hills are in the process of being evacuated. Evacuation centers are being set up at Mission Hills High School at 1 Mission Hills Court and San Marcos Middle School at 650 West Mission Road.

The Sheriff's Department is working with several agencies, including the Carlsbad Fire and Police Department, the CHP, Escondido Police and the Humane Society as they deal with these fires.
