TIME:  10:20 a.m.

LOCATION:  10600 block Capistrano Avenue, South Gate

SUSPECT:  Male Adult

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Special Weapons Team has responded to the 10600 block of Capistrano Avenue, South Gate, to assist South Gate Police Department personnel regarding an armed carjacking suspect barricaded inside a residence.

SEB deputies have assumed command of the tactical response and the LASD Crisis Negotiation Team personnel are en route to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.

Surrounding homes are being evacuated for the safety of the residents.
