LOCATION: 59700 Twentynine Palms Highway, Joshua Tree
SUMMARY:
Desert Daze is a four day music festival put on by Moon Block LLC. This is the second year for the music festival, which was held at 59700 Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree from October 12th to October 15th, 2017. In addition to private security, Moon Block LLC contracted with San Bernardino County Code Enforcement, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to work the event. During the event, Sheriff’s Dispatch received 39 complaints regarding noise coming from the location. Some of those complaints were from the same person calling multiple times. Deputies, along with Code Enforcement officers, and professionals trained in taking decibel readings, responded to the reporting parties’ residences to investigate the complaints. All incidents investigated, except for one, showed the music festival was in compliance with the San Bernardino County noise ordinance. For the one incident that had a decibel reading out of compliance, the information was provided to the sound crew at the event, who immediately addressed and corrected the issue. There were no arrests made at the music festival.
