The City of Beverly Hills would like you to be aware of the updates to the N Santa Monica Blvd Reconstruction Project, as it may impact your commute.
Traffic Impacts – Two lanes open westbound; eastbound lanes closed at Crescent Drive. Eastbound traffic will be diverted to S. Santa Monica Boulevard. (See detour map)
Construction Activity - Removing and replacing road and subgrade

The Project will reconstruct a segment (approximately 1.5 miles) of North Santa Monica Boulevard extending from Wilshire Boulevard to Doheny Drive in the City of Beverly Hills. The project will rebuild the deteriorating roadway; upgrade the storm drain system, replace curb and gutters; upgrade access ramps to American with Disability Access (ADA) standards; and install new LED street lights. Enhancements to the roadway include the installation of a bioswale on the north side, landscaping improvements, and widening the south side between Canon Drive and Wilshire Boulevard. The City Council formed a 15-member Blue Ribbon Committee in 2013 to conduct public outreach and develop recommendations for the project design. The City Council also appointed the Traffic and Parking Commission to develop recommendations for traffic mitigation.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
The City has awarded a contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Griffith Company, for the North Santa Monica Boulevard Reconstruction Project and an agreement with Berg and Associates, inc. for construction management services on July 19, 2016. Construction began in January 2017 and is scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2018, several months ahead of schedule.
