Driver loses control of his vehicle trying to flee from deputies

SUSPECT(S): Kout Huot, age 39 a resident of Twentynine Palms
Cori Aragon, age 31 a resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Sunday, February 4, 2018, at approximately 1:30 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station attempted to stop a vehicle, leaving the Tortoise Rock Casino, for expired registration. The driver, Kout Huot failed to stop and drove at a high rate of speed, leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit. After about two miles, Huot lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll over. Aragon, the passenger, and Huot ran from the vehicle, a foot pursuit ensued. A short time later both Aragon and Huot were taken into custody without incident. A record check revealed both subjects had outstanding warrants. Neither were injured as a result of the vehicle rollover.
Hout was arrested for Felony Evading and his outstanding warrants. Aragon was arrested for Resisting, Obstructing, Delaying a Peace Officer and her outstanding warrants. They were both booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
