INCIDENT: Attempted Murder

LOCATION: 55500 block of Twentynine Palms Hwy, Yucca Valley

SUSPECT: Arthur Thomas Davies, age 34 a resident of Yucca Valley

VICTIM: 1-year-old male, a resident of Yucca Valley

SUMMARY:

On Sunday, February 11, 2018, the Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) contacted the Sheriff’s Department regarding a one-year-old male that was airlifted to LLUMC on Saturday, February 10th, from the Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree. According to medical staff, the child’s injuries were suspicious, and they were requesting a deputy respond to the hospital. An investigation into the cause of the child’s injuries began immediately.

Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division, Crime Against Children and Homicide Details were requested and have assumed the investigation.

Through investigation, and detectives working in collaboration with Forensic Pediatricians from LLUMC have determined the child’s mother’s boyfriend, Arthur Thomas Davies, is responsible for the child's injuries. Davies is not the biological father. The child remains in the hospital in serious condition and is on life support.

On Sunday, February 11th, Arthur Thomas Davies was arrested, transported and booked into the Central Detention Center for Attempted Murder. Davies is being held on one-million dollar bail and is scheduled to appear in court on February 14th.
