#LASD Serious Traffic Collision w/5 Injured; Snapchat video surfaces, Saugus
On Monday, February 12, 2018, at approximately, 10:30 p.m., an SUV driven by a 20-year-old Castaic man, with three passengers, two males and one female, 22-24 years of age, was travelling southbound on Bouquet Canyon Road, north of David Way in Saugus, when the vehicle crossed over into oncoming traffic and reportedly collided head-on with a sedan being driven by an Agua Dulce woman, 28.
All parties were transported to a local hospital, with moderate to severe injuries. Blood tests were administered to both drivers to determine if alcohol or drugs played a factor. Investigators are awaiting the toxicology results of the tests.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Traffic office received information regarding a Snapchat video that was streamed by one of the three passengers in the SUV. The video allegedly depicts the driver steering the SUV with his feet. Traffic detectives are conducting an active investigation into this incident to ascertain when the video was taken, in relation to the time of the collision.
