Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are investigating a death related to a traffic collision following a short pursuit of a carjacking that occurred on the 40000 block of 10^th Street West in the City of Palmdale.  The incident occurred on Sunday, February, 18, 2018 at approximately 2:23 PM.

The facts of the case were presented to the District Attorney’s office in Antelope Valley Juvenile Court.  The District Attorney’s office filed murder, vehicular manslaughter, evading a peace officer which resulted in injury, carjacking, driving under the influence, misdemeanor hit and run, providing false identification to a peace officer, and driving while unlicensed charges against the suspect.  There is no bail set for the suspect.

The male adult, one of the teenagers and an infant that were in the victim’s vehicle are still receiving medical treatment.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are investigating the death related to a traffic collision following a short pursuit of a carjacking suspect that occurred on the 40100 block of 10^th Street West, Palmdale. The incident occurred on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:23 P.M.

Detectives have learned that Palmdale Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 37100 block of 47^th East, Palmdale regarding a carjacking which occurred by force. The description of the vehicle was broadcasted to assisting units. Shortly thereafter, a Palmdale station deputy located the vehicle and initiated a vehicle pursuit. Seconds later the carjacking subjects vehicle, collided into the victim's black sport utility vehicle (SUV). The black sport utility vehicle was occupied by five individuals which included a male and a female Black adults, two male teenagers, and a male Black infant. They were all transported to local hospitals for treatment. The female Black succumbed to her injuries. The condition of all other parties from the black sports utility vehicle is unknown at this time.

The driver of the subject vehicle is a female juvenile. She was transported to a local hospital. Her condition is unknown. Charges are pending.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are responding to the intersection of West Palmdale Boulevard and 10^th Street West, Palmdale, to investigate the circumstances surrounding a vehicle pursuit that ended in a two vehicle traffic collision with one person dead.
 
The victims were transported to a local hospital.  Four of the victim’s condition is unknown and one victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead. 
 
The suspect was also transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
