UPDATE: Student, MH/18, arrested; charged with 2 counts of criminal threats re incident at QHHS on 2/21/2018.

UPDATE:
On Monday, February 26th, 2018 at approximately 8am, Detectives from Lancaster Sheriff's Station arrested Miguel Pena for making criminal threats to Quartz Hill High School in an incident on February 21st, 2018.

Prior to his release from a hospital, Detectives arrested the 18 year old Hispanic male. He was transported to the Inmate Reception Center where he is being charged with two counts of criminal threats and two counts of attempted criminal threats. His bail amount is $200,000.

Our station will continue to take every threat made to our schools serious. We will investigate each threat thoroughly and charge anyone involved with making such threats.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
Lancaster Sheriff’s Station is currently investigating a threat made by a student at Quartz Hill High School.

On Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a student made a verbal threat of violence to take place at the school on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018. Upon Deputies investigation of the threat, it was discovered that the student had already been transported to a hospital by another county agency on an unrelated incident. The investigation is ongoing and will be thoroughly investigated.

Our station is aware of a video, made by a parent, which has been circulating numerous social media sites including YouTube and Twitter. These specific threats are being investigated and at this time this student does not currently pose a threat.

Lancaster Station would like to thank all the parents, students and school faculty for being so vigilant and making us aware of this threat. We take every threat seriously and are able to keep our community safe by working together.
