Deputies Arrest Suspect for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

INCIDENT: Assault with a deadly weapon

LOCATION: 2400 block of Needles Hwy, Needles

SUSPECT(S): George Carl Davis, 27 years old male transient

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: On Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 7:36pm, deputies from the Colorado River Sheriff’s station / Needles Police responded to the 2400 block of Needles Hwy for a report of an assault. Deputies learned a white male adult, who was known to be a transient in the area, struck the victim with a metal pipe in what was described as an unprovoked attack. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

On Monday, April 30, 2018, at 9:21am, deputies were dispatched to the corner of J Street and W. Broadway Street in Needles after several citizens called 911 to report sightings of the suspect. George Davis was found sitting on the corner holding the metal pipe. He was interviewed at the scene and arrested. Davis was booked into the Needles jail for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $50,000 bail.
