NARRATIVE:

On Thursday, May 31, 2018, the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force conducted direct enforcement focused on the area known as the “Holt Corridor.” The operation was conducted in response to numerous complaints received from residents and local business owners. This operation utilized plainclothes and uniformed officers.

The enforcement effort resulted in (6) arrests for 653.22(a) PC Loitering with Intent to Commit Prostitution.  One of the individuals arrested was also charged with a violation of 166(a)(4) PC – Court Order. The court order violation was a result of the suspect returning to the “Holt Corridor” after being served with a “Stay Away” order (court order) issued by a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge.  The “Stay Away” order is reserved for individuals that have been identified though the court process as habitual offenders. This is one of many tools utilized by the Pomona Police Department to address human trafficking activity along the “Holt Corridor.”

During this operation, members of the Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at the Pomona Lodge Motel where several known prostitutes were contacted and interviewed. During this investigation, one subject was arrested on a warrant related to a Homicide investigation.

(3) Subjects were arrested for Parole Violations.

A total of (10) Suspects were arrested during today’s operation.

The operation was a success and similar operations are scheduled to take place in the not too distant future.
