Two men burglarized the Palms-N-Paws Animal Shelter, stealing two dogs; one suspect arrested

SUMMARY:
On Sunday, July 22, 2018, Levi Irwin and an unidentified male, forced open a door to the Palms-N-Paws Animal Shelter in Twentynine Palms, and stole two Pitbull dogs. Irwin unlocked the other cages, which allowed all the dogs to run free. Two dogs ran from the building, and have not been located. Two other dogs were severely injured from a fight after they were let loose.
Detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station, investigated the case. A search warrant was served at Irwin’s residence, and evidence was recovered. Irwin was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for PC 459, burglary, and PC 597, animal cruelty.
