On August 9, 2018, at 6:06 a.m., the Cypress Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a traffic accident at the intersection of Ball Road and Walker Street. The first officers arrived on scene within minutes and reported a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle and was deceased. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was uninjured. The collision is being investigated by members of the West Orange County Serious Traffic Accident Response team. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Officer Eric Mount at (714) 229-6634. The bicyclist’s identity is not being released at this time pending notification of the next of kin.
