*3rd UPDATE* #LASD Homicide Detectives Attempting to Locate Murder Suspect Octavio Curiel, 2700blk Leafdale Av

Investigators have discovered that Suspect Octavio Curiel-Martinez fired gunshots at his parents residence Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at approximately 8:32 P.M. on the 12300 block of Clinton street in El Monte.
 
A short time later is when the suspect’s wife, 37 year-old Ana Maria Nunez (pictured female) was discovered inside a residence on the 2700 block of Leafdale Avenue in El Monte.  The victim was suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where both mom and fetus were pronounced dead.
 
At this time, it is unknown which incident occurred first.
 
OCTAVIO CURIEL-MARTINEZ IS CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
 
He was last seen driving a 2018 Red Toyota Tacoma with a chrome utility box in the bed, CA License 81718L2.

2ND UPDATE IS AS FOLLOWS:

Los Angeles Couinty Sheriff's Homicide detectives and El Monte Police Department are asking for your help in locating suspect Octavio Curiel-Martinez. He is wanted for the murder of his pregnant wife. 

Suspect Curiel-Martinez is described as a male Hispanic 36 years-old, 5'7" tall, brown hair, brown eyes and frequents the area of El Monte. 

OCTAVIO CURIEL-MARTINEZ IS CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

He was last seen driving a 2018 Red Toyota Tacoma with a chrome utility box in the bed, CA License 81718L2.

UPDATED PRESS RELEASE IS AS FOLLOWS:

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are continuing to assist El Monte Police Department with a shooting death investigation. The incident occurred Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at approximately 8:54 p.m., on the 2700 block of Leafdale Avenue, El Monte.

Officers from El Monte Police Department responded to the location regarding an assault with a deadly weapon, gunshot victim call. Upon arrival, they discovered a 37 year-old pregnant female Hispanic suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside the residence. She was transported to a local hospital where both the mom and fetus were pronounced dead.

Investigators believe this shooting stems from a domestic violence incident and have identified the suspect as Octavio Curiel, a male Hispanic 36 years-old, and husband of the victim. They shared the home together and have additional minor children in common. They don’t believe the children were home at the time of the incident. 

The suspect is still outstanding and considered armed and dangerous. He was armed with a handgun and last seen fleeing the scene in an unknown direction in a 2018 Red Toyota Tacoma Truck CA License #81718L2.

A Wanted Bulletin with the suspect’s photo will be released later today.
