A male and female are arrested after dragging officer with vehicle.
On September 8th at 7:01 PM, APD officers were dispatched to a suspicion call in the 1600 block of East Amarillo Boulevard. The officers located Shaila Schlenz, a 25 year old female, and Charles Abdnor, a 26 year old male, in a vehicle at that location. Both individuals gave false names to the officers. The officers attempted to remove Charles from the vehicle so that he could be fully identified. Charles accelerated the vehicle with one of the officers holding on to him, dragging the officer and then causing him to fall to the ground. The suspects fled west bound away from the scene and then south bound on North Mirror. Officers located the vehicle abandoned at SE 3rd and Mirror. Officers located Shaila in a back yard in the 300 block of S. Aldredge and took her into custody. Charles was pursued and taken into custody in the 300 block of S. Aldredge. Charles Abdnor was found to have two warrants for burglary and one warrant for arson, out of Liberal, Kansas. He was arrested for his warrants and original charges for Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant, Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information, Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Shaila Schlenz was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information. Both were booked into the Potter County Detention Center. The vehicle that the suspects were in was found to be stolen out of Kansas. The officer received minor injuries from the incident.
