SUSPECT(S): Derek Dylan Burns, 25-year-old, Resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): Best Western Motel
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 2:58 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to a report of shots fired at the Best Western Motel in the City of Twentynine Palms. During the investigation, deputies located several bullet strikes on the east facing wall of the Best Western Motel. No patrons at the motel were injured. Evidence located during the investigation lead to the arrest of Derek Burns who was on felony probation. Burns was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling as well as Probation Violation.
