     Accused:  Mark E. Elbaum W/M    52 years old

DETAILS:  On 10/29/2018 at 1014 Hours, Patrol & Detective Units responded to a Bank Robbery (Attempted) at the Santander Bank located at 44 Princeton-Hightstown Road.  The actor, a heavyset (multiple chins) W/M believed to be in his 50s, had attempted to rob the bank.  The W/M exited the branch and fled the scene. 
 
                     On 10/29/2018 at 1050 Hours, the “round faced multiple chinned” robber struck again and robbed the Valley National Bank on Route 27 in North Brunswick, NJ.  Thanks to cooperative, collective, & extensive effort from many different Law Enforcement Agencies (as listed above), the robber was identified as Mark E. Elbaum and he was taken into custody at approximately 1830 Hours last evening without incident. 
 
                      On behalf of Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri and Chief Robert Garofalo, we would like to thank our public for being so involved in assisting bringing this individual to justice.  In addition, the work of all of the investigators & officers involved was exemplary.
