Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Homicide detectives are investigating the found human skeletal remains of an unknown individual discovered on Friday, January 11, 2019, in a valley near Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Rd at Mile Marker .43, Angeles National Forest.

The discovery was made by hikers who came across what appeared to be human remains in a valley near the stated intersection. Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and confirmed there was a human skull at the location. Homicide Investigators along with LA County Coroner Investigators collected skeletal remains at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
