Detectives arrested a 25-year-old man for Sending Harmful Matter/Arranging to Meet a Minor for Lewd Purposes

INCIDENT: PC288.2(A) Sending Harmful Matter to a Minor, PC288.4(a) Arranging to Meet with a Minor for Lewd Purposes and PC288.4(b) Meeting with a Minor For Lewd Purposes
LOCATION: 16000 block of Fairfield Ranch Rd, Chino Hills
VICTIM: 15-year-old female
SUSPECT: Nicholas Rangel, 25 years old, resident of Chino Hills
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, deputies responded to a call for service regarding an adult male sending a lewd photograph to the victim. Deputies and Detectives conducted an investigation and were able to determine, Nicholas Rangel sent a lewd photograph to the victim.
On Friday, March 22, 2019, Rangel attempted to set up a meeting to have intercourse with the victim. Rangel was contacted by law enforcement at the meeting place and taken into custody.
Rangel was booked at West Valley Detention Center and is being held on $60,000 bail. He is expected to be arraigned on March 26th in Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
