The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of 07-21-19 through 07-27-19.        
 
July 21, 2019

• No significant activity.        

 
July 22, 2019

• A Vehicle Burglary was reported in the 2400 block of Bloomdale St. Between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., persons unknown made forced entry through the trunk of the victim’s vehicle and stole four speakers and two electronic tablets.  The loss was estimated at approximately $8,000.

 

• Narcotics Arrest:  Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Amberwood Dr. regarding an adult female banging on the front door and refusing to leave. Upon arrival, deputies detained the female described in the call, who stated she was there to recover her property. When deputies asked the female for identification, she stated it was in her purse and gave permission for them to retrieve it. While retrieving the identification from her purse, deputies located a small plastic baggie containing methamphetamine and placed her under arrest.   

 
July 23, 2019

• A Petty Theft was reported in the 1200 block of Pops Rd.  At approximately 4:30 p.m., a package containing two school uniforms was stolen from the front porch. The theft was captured on the victim’s “Ring” doorbell.  The footage showed an adult male Hispanic exit the passenger side of a silver vehicle, run up to the front porch and take the package. The investigation is on-going.     

 

• Narcotics Arrest:  At approximately 6:10 p.m., deputies responded to Buena Vista St. and Duarte Rd. regarding a call of two male adults drinking in public. As they approached the location, deputies observed two males matching the description in the call, sitting on a block wall drinking alcohol. As they approached the two men, they observed one of them tossing a small black object to the ground. Deputies recovered the object and after examining it, determined it to be a bindle containing a small amount of methamphetamine. One of the males was cited for possession of an open container in public, and the other was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.           

 
July 24, 2019

July 25, 2019

• Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest:  At approximately 2 a.m., deputies responded to the 1400 block of Buena Vista St. regarding a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, they located an adult female lying in the street and bleeding profusely from the head. The victim was able to tell deputies that during a family argument, her boyfriend’s brother struck her in the head with a blender. 

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested at the scene for assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was transported to a local hospital with significant head and facial injuries.          
 
July 26, 2019

• No significant activity.    

 
July 27, 2019

• Shoplifting Arrest:  A petty theft was reported at 1050 Huntington Dr. (Target). Store security observed an adult male selecting several clothing items and placing them in a shopping cart. The male then exited the store bypassing all manned cash registers, and was detained outside the store by security. After further investigation by responding deputies, the male was arrested for shoplifting. The $122 in merchandise was returned to the store.
