Duarte Crime Blotter for the week of August 4 through August 10, 2019
The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of 08-04-19 thru 08-10-19:
August 04, 2019
- Domestic Violence Arrest: Deputies responded to the 2100 block of Maynard Drive regarding a disturbance call between a male and female. Upon arrival, deputies observed minor injuries to the female. After further investigation, the male was arrested for domestic violence.
- An Assault with a Deadly Weapon was reported in the “7-Eleven” parking lot, located at 1430 Mountain Avenue. The victim was followed to the parking lot by her ex-husband after he threatened to kill her if she attempted to take his kids from him. While in the parking lot, the suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and threatened her a second time. The suspect fled the scene after the victim called 911. Responding deputies were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation is on-going.
August 05, 2019
- No significant activity.
August 06, 2019
- A Grand Theft was reported in the 2600 block of Hacienda Drive. At approximately 9:00 am, three chain saws and a gas blower were stolen from the victim’s truck while he was working in the backyard of a residence. The loss was estimated at approximately $3,700.
- Vandalism Arrest: At approximately 3:40 am, deputies responded to “Starbucks” located at 1263 Huntington Drive, regarding an adult male who vandalized the drive-thru sign. Upon arrival, deputies located a male matching the description of the suspect across the street at “Carl’s Jr.” While attempting to take the suspect into custody, a brief struggle ensued. Deputies ultimately gained control of the suspect and he was arrested without further incident. Incident to the arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics. The suspect was arrested for felony vandalism, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

August 08, 2019
- A Vehicle Burglary was reported in the “Walmart” parking lot, 1600 Mountain Avenue. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle. A purse containing the victim’s wallet and cell phone were stolen.
August 09, 2019
- A Petty Theft was reported at “Walmart” 1600 Mountain Avenue. A backpack containing $500 in library books was stolen from an unattended shopping cart.
August 10, 2019
- No significant activity.
