The Public Safety Power Shutoff anticipated to begin at 10 PM, will have a reduced impact on Fremont residents.

A smaller scale Public Safety Power Shutoff event is anticipated to begin at 10 PM in Fremont.

PG&E has announced a Public Safety Power Shutdown (PSPS) will begin in Alameda County tonight at 10:00 p.m.  Tonight’s event will be much smaller in scale than what our community has previously experienced.  Our understanding is the impacted areas will be primarily in unincorporated areas along the north eastern Fremont border.  PG&E has indicated that restoration of power will begin Wednesday morning.

The plan and schedule is contingent upon weather conditions and patterns.  PG&E began notifying potentially affected customers over the weekend.  We strongly advise residents to use the PG&E address search feature and map (link below) to see if you may be impacted.

Please be advised that the impacted areas listed on the map may change.

In response to the planned power outage, the City of Fremont will monitor and coordinate resources to mitigate issues impacting our community as necessary.
