Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting at the Casa Bella Apartment complex in Victorville 
DATE/TIME: Friday, November 1, 2019 6:30 p.m.
INCIDENT: Homicide Investigation
LOCATION: 16980 Nisqualli Rd., Victorville
SUSPECT: Parnell Gutter, 28 years old, resident of Victorville
VICTIM: Thurman Mathew, 40 years old, resident of Victorville
SUMMARY:
On Friday, November 1, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. deputies responded to calls of a shooting at the Casa Bella Apartments on Nisqualli Rd. Deputies and medical aid arrived and found an adult male unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
Detectives with the Homicide Detail responded to conduct the investigation. Detectives determined Parnell Gutter and Thurman Mathew were involved in an argument, and later it became a physical altercation. A short time after the fight, Mathew went to Gutter’s apartment and began shooting at the apartment, at which time Gutter returned fire and struck Mathew.
The completed investigation will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office for review.
