Duarte Crime Blotter for the Week of Oct. 27-November 2, 2019

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of October 27 through November 2, 2019:        
 
October 27, 2019

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest:
Deputies responded to the 3200 block of Tannencrest Drive regarding a fight call. Upon arrival, they contacted an adult male who stated he was punched by his adult nephew and lost consciousness. The suspect was detained by deputies at the location and after further investigation, was arrested.

October 30, 2019
  • Petty Theft:
A petty theft was reported at “Pro Green” located at 1760 Evergreen Avenue. Sometime between October 29th and the 30th, person’s unknown stole a $300 battery from a work truck.

November 2, 2019
  • Commercial Burglary:
A commercial burglary was reported at “Curo Management” located at 2160 Huntington Drive. At approximately 2:00 a.m., the owner received an alarm activation.  Upon arrival, he found the front glass window shattered. Deputies cleared the location, but no suspects were located.  Video footage showed a male running from the front of the business to the rear and out of view. It was unknown if anything had been stolen at the time of the report. 
 
  • Grand Theft Auto:
Between 9:00 a.m. on 11-01-19 and 8:45 a.m. on 11-2-19, person’s unknown stole a 2000 Chevy Silverado from the 1700 block of Huntington Drive.  The vehicle is still outstanding.
 
  • Residential Burglary:
A residential burglary was reported in the 1200 block of Pacific Court.  Between October 19th and November 2nd, person’s unknown entered the victim’s house and ransacked numerous boxes and storage bins that were stacked in the house, while the victim was preparing to move out.  When the suspect’s left, they allegedly left the water running in the kitchen sink which damaged the hardwood floors. The victim was unable to determine what, if anything had been stolen.  There were no signs of forced entry.
