Advisory

A message from Grandview Mayor Leonard Jones about COVID-19 (coronavirus)

Today and every day, my number one concern is the wellbeing of all Grandview citizens, visitors and City staff. We are closely monitoring COVID-19 (Coronavirus) responses at the local, state, and regional level with guidance from our emergency personnel.

Our first responders are prepared for any calls regarding possible cases. As of right now, Missouri has one positive case in St. Louis County. Grandview and Jackson County have no confirmed cases, so the focus is on preventing the spread. Having said that I don’t find it necessary to declare a state of emergency right now but I am aware this could change.

City of Grandview facilities are open. At City Hall, hand sanitizing stations are at every counter and our hard-working maintenance staff is increasing the cleaning of common areas. At our community center, The View, staff has discontinued use of a finger scanner for sign-in, posters are up encouraging visitors to wipe down exercise equipment before and after use, and our maintenance teams have increased frequency of cleaning.

We all play a role in curbing the spread of the virus. So, please be cautious when visiting public places with crowds, don’t shake hands, wash your hands frequently, and use hand sanitizer when you can.

Grandview is as prepared as one  municipality could be. If you have any questions about COVID-19, please call the 24-hour hotline at 877-435-8411.
