 A Local State of Emergency has been declared for the Town of Hackettstown in response to the evolving outbreak of the COVID-19 virus.

The most immediate effect of the declaration is limited access to the Hackettstown Municipal Building, Hackettstown Police Department, and the Hackettstown Department of Public Works.

UPDATE: Public access to the Hackettstown Municipal Building, Department of Public Works Building, etc. are now restricted. Administrative offices will be staffed from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Any questions regarding available services can be answered by calling 908-852-3130.

Due to the Coronavirus concerns, the Hackettstown Police Department is requesting that if you are in need of any paperwork, copies of incidents or motor vehicle crash reports, that you please call us at 908-852-3302. We will make every effort to accommodate your request either via mail, email or fax and the normal associated fees will be waived.

In order to the protect citizens and the Hackettstown Police Department, we are requesting that any/all general police inquiries, for example lost property and fraud/bad check complaints, be made via phone and not in person. Should you need to file a report, Hackettstown Police Department is requesting you call 908-852-3302 during regular business hours (M-F 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) or after hours, call the Warren County Dispatch Center at 908-852-3300. Should you have an actual emergency, please call 9-1-1.

This is for the upkeep of our employees' health and maintaining their ability to serve you. If an employee contracts the virus it might be necessary to isolate others, greatly reducing the size of our workforce.
