6pm Update - 1 New Resident Tests Positive

 
NEW RESIDENT TESTS POSITIVE IN TOWNSHIP
South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management was notified this afternoon that a woman in her 30’s from the Township tested positive for COVID-19. There are now 7 residents who have tested positive, 6 of whom are recovering at home under self-quarantine.  Middlesex County now has 147 cases of people testing positive for the virus.

The Middlesex County Health Department is the lead in the investigation of these cases. They will conduct follow up and provide any needed notifications.
 
COVID-19 DRIVE-THRU TESTING SITE NEARBY  at MyInstaDoc, 298 Applegarth Road, Monroe:  TESTING AVAILABLE TUESDAY 9AM-5PM AND THURSDAY 9AM-5PM.  PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED – Limited availability and those without appointments must wait in line.  Patients must have COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, or have been exposed to an infected person.  Pre-register at www.myinstadocmonroe.com or call 609-207-3220 to speak with a medical professional.


STATE EXPANDS TELEMEDICINE FOR RESIDENTS:  Late last week, the state passed legislation to expand telemedicine from home. Today, the NJ Department of Health stated that they will be announcing a telemedicine and telehealth plan through your health insurance and Medicaid providers to serve residents during the COVID-19 state of emergency. Contact your health insurance or health provider to continue your health and counseling care over the phone or by video at home. 

MENTAL HEALTH HELPLINE:  The Governor’s Office announced today the availability of tele-mental health services from 8 am – 8 pm at 866-202-HELP (4357). 
 
RECYCLING / GARBAGE SERVICES CONTINUE:  Please be advised that recycling and garbage are currently continuing on its regular schedule.  
 
REMINDER:  ALL NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES; ALL GATHERINGS CANCELLED:  Governor Murphy yesterday directed the closure of all non-essential retail businesses until the current emergency ends.  He further cancelled all gatherings and ordered nearly all residents to STAY AT HOME.  For additional details see link to new State website below.
