INCIDENT: PC 311. 2 (A) Distribution of Child Pornography
LOCATION: City of Victorville
SUSPECT: Steven Pilar, 43 years old, resident of Victorville
SUMMARY:
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Crimes Against Children Detail (CAC), and Sheriff’s Hi-Tech Division began an investigation into the downloading, possession and distribution of child pornography. Through investigation, it was determined the child pornography was distributed from a home in Victorville.
On Thursday, Wednesday, April 22, 2020, personnel from CAC, Hi-Tech Division, and the Victorville Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant at a residence in the 11900 block of Autumn Wind Lane, in Victorville. Investigators contacted Steven Pilar at the residence. At the end of the interview with Pilar, he was arrested for distribution of over a thousand images and videos of child pornography. Pilar was subsequently booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Pilar posted bail on April 22nd and was released from custody.
Investigators learned Pilar worked as a fifth-grade teacher for the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District.
