INCIDENT: H&S 11352(A); Transportation of a Controlled Substance
LOCATION: SR-62/ Church Street, Yucca Valley, CA
SUSPECT(S): Jose Chaidez; 30-year-old resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Friday, May 1st, 2020, At approximately 9:30 pm, Deputy A. Stumbo conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Tahoe for a vehicle code violation in the area of Church Street and State Route 62 in Yucca Valley. The vehicle was being operated by Jose Chaidez of San Bernardino. Chaidez was found to have active misdemeanor warrants for failure to appears and during a vehicle search, approximately 9 grams of cocaine were located along with drug packaging materials, a digital scale, and approximately $800.00 in cash. Chaidez was arrested for transportation of a controlled substance and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail without incident.
In compliance with the statewide Emergency Bail Schedule, bail for most misdemeanor and felony offenses must be set at $0. Because of this criteria, Jose Chaidez was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and released from custody following the booking process.
