Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau is assisting Monterey Park Police Department with a stabbing death investigation. The incident was reported Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at approximately 10:45 a.m., on the 1700 block of Alisar Avenue, Monterey Park.

Monterey Park PD received a 9-1-1 call from a male adult stating he had just killed someone.  When officers arrived at the location, they found a male Hispanic adult standing outside the residence with his hands-up. He was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

When officers entered the residence, they found a female Hispanic in her 60’s with multiple stab wounds to the upper torso. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect (detained male Hispanic in his 30’s) was arrested.  It was learned he was the son of the victim.

Two knives were recovered at the scene.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are responding to the 1700 block of Alisar Avenue, Monterey Park, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a female adult.

The female was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
