LOCATION:  1100 Blk. of Brewster Dr., Pomona CA.

CRIME: 187 PC – Homicide

VICTIM: Marshonn Jones, female, 54 years of age, Pomona resident

SUSPECTS: Paul Robert Jones III, male, 20 years of age, Pomona resident

UNIT:  Investigative Services Division

NARRATIVE:

On June 28, 2020 patrol officers responded to the 1100 blk. of Brewster Dr. in reference to a male stating that he had been stabbed. Officers located the suspect outside a home suffering from a minor cut. Patrol Officers investigated further and as they reached the front door of the suspect’s residence a male subject later identified as Paul Robert Jones Sr. (76 years old, Pomona resident) called to them from inside requesting assistance. Police Officers entered the home and found Marshonn Jones (the suspect’s Aunt) deceased from apparent stab wounds. Jones Sr. was also found in the home also suffering from stab wounds. Jones Sr. was transported to the Pomona Valley Medical Center in critical condition. Homicide investigators from the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began an extensive investigation. Jones III is the grandson of Jones Sr. and was identified as the suspect in the incident. The motive for the crime is unclear. Suspect Paul Robert Jones III has been booked at the Pomona City Jail for 187 PC – Homicide. The victim’s family has been notified.
