Out of an abundance of caution based on increased fire behavior on the Woodward Fire this afternoon, evacuation warning areas in Olema are being expanded.
The following areas are now placed under a warning:
- Highway 1 at the greenbridge (Lagunitas Creek) south to the intersection of Highway 1 and Sir Francis Drake (Southern Intersection in Olema).
- Sir Francis Drake to the top of Olema Hill - everything north of Sir Francis Drake.
- Everything between the above intersections to the east to Olema Hill and west of Highway 1.
Residents should be prepared to evacuate in the event of an evacuation order. Prepare a go bag, and prepare your home for evacuation. Charge your electronic devices and make sure you are registered for Alertmarin.org to receive the most up to date emergency notifications.
