Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are assisting Hawthorne Police Department with a shooting death investigation of a male adult. The incident was reported near El Segundo Blvd. and Crenshaw Blvd., in the City of Hawthorne.
 
At approximately 10:45 PM, officers from the Hawthorne Police Department responded to a shots fired call at the 12000 block of Crenshaw Blvd. Upon their arrival, the discovered evidence that a shooting had occurred, however there was no victim or suspect at the scene. 

Subsequently they received a call of a traffic collision at the 3300 block of west El Segundo Blvd., Hawthorne. When officers arrived at that location, they located a Black male adult (49 years old), possibly a victim of the shooting at the 12000 block of Crenshaw Blvd. location, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

He was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
