NARRATIVE:
On Thursday, September 09, 2021; Officers from Pomona Police Department's, Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were in the area of Holt Ave and Hamilton Blvd when they observed a vehicle parked on the sidewalk, to the front of a business. Officers contacted the vehicle and found it be occupied by Jorge Sandoval. When Sandoval exited the vehicle, officers located a loaded firearm in the pocket of his shorts.
Sandoval is a known felon and is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms. Sandoval was booked at the Pomona city jail for weapons violations.
UNIT:
The Pomona Police Department’s, Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) is a specialized unit within the police department that is responsible for suppressing gang violence, investigating drug offenses and pursuing wanted persons. The team is comprised of two supervisors, four officers and two additional officers from the California Highway Patrol – Baldwin Park Office.
