Police investigating threat at Casa Grande High School
Update:
The Information about the anonymous reporting system the school was sharing with students was done yesterday to about 80 students in the Freshman Physical Education Class.
Incident Summary:
On September 29th at approximately 6:48 PM, the Petaluma Police Department became aware of a bomb threat made on an anonymous reporting system. The one anonymous threat referred to a bomb at Casa Grande High School. The information was immediately assigned to the Police Department Investigations Unit and an investigation was initiated. The police department determined that school officials were aware of the same information and began to collaboratively communicate about the threat. Detectives are working with the anonymous reporting system company about the report of the threat and are conducting investigative steps to identify the source of threat. The police department determined the school had a rally yesterday at the school and school safety was discussed along with information on how to anonymously report school safety issues. The same reporting system discussed at the rally was used to make the threat. While the case is still actively being investigated, the department was not able to find any information at this time to corroborate the threat. The department has communicated this information to school officials and continue to evaluate the safety of those at the high school. The police department treats all threats of this kind very seriously and is determined to identity who made the anonymous threat.
