*UPD* #LASD Homicide Detectives Responded to a Deputy-Involved Shooting Invst,11600 blk Willowbrook Ave #Los Angeles

Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting and murder at the Rosa Parks Station in Willowbrook.

Deputies from the Transit Services Bureau were flagged down by a Metro rail patron who advised them a man had just been shot on the C-Line Platform at the Metro station. Four deputies responded and discovered a male Hispanic suspect waiting on the platform. The suspect jumped down to the eastbound rail tracks and pointed and fired a handgun at the deputies. Deputies returned fire striking the suspect.

The suspect sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a nearby hospital.  His condition remains unknown. No deputies were injured.

Responding deputies discovered a Hispanic male between 50 and 60 lying unresponsive on the platform. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video and learned the suspect had shot the victim once in the head prior to deputies arriving at the platform.  The suspect then waited near the top of the stairs. As deputies topped the stairway to investigate the reported shooting, the suspect jumped down onto the tracks, pointed a gun at the deputies and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.
