Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male Black adult in the city of Compton.
Deputies from the Century Station responded to a "person down" call for service near the south entrance of Martin Luther King hospital. The incident occurred on July 4, 2022, at approximately 5:00 P.M.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male Black adult suffering from a gun shot would to the upper torso. LA County Fire responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
A second male Black adult victim was located and treated at a local hospital.
Based on preliminary information, it appears the victims were traveling in a vehicle in the city of Compton at the time of the incident.
There is no suspect or additional information at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to the 800 block of El Segundo Boulevard, in the city of Compton regarding a shooting death investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, July 4, 2022 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
The male adult victim was transported to local hospital and pronounced dead.
