Idaho Chiefs of Police Association Condemns Actions and Comments of Former Police Captain: November 20, 2022

IDAHO CHIEFS OF POLICE ASSOCIATION

CONTACT: Chief Roger Schei, ICOPA President

The Idaho Chiefs of Police Association (ICOPA) has been made aware of the hateful comments made by former police captain Matt Bryngelson. Our condemnation could not be any stronger.

Unfortunately, racism has no boundaries, even in the world of policing. ICOPA is extremely disappointed and disgusted with the actions of former police captain Matt Bryngelson.

The ICOPA membership stands firmly against the hatred portrayed by Matt Bryngelson and others who recite these disgusting beliefs. ICOPA works diligently to serve our communities, and we condemn the hateful words of Bryngelson, which create a divide between the communities we serve and our police officers. There is NO place in this noble profession for people who hold the beliefs of people like Bryngelson, and we want to assure the communities we serve that we will not stand for such racism and hatred.

The leadership of law enforcement in the state of Idaho stand arm in arm with our line officers in condemning the comments and actions of Matt Bryngelson and his ilk.

We are here to serve ALL members of our community to provide “justice for all.”
