On February 16, 2023, at approximately 4:10 p.m. a passerby contacted Fremont Police Department after witnessing an altercation occurring between two men near Stevenson Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway. Officers immediately responded to the area and located a male lying on the ground suffering from severe injuries. Officers provided emergency medical aid. Fremont Fire Department also responded and provided emergency care. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The lone suspect was located in the area and placed under arrest. There are no outstanding suspects and no threats to the community at this time.
This is Fremont’s first homicide in 2023.
Fremont Police Department’s Investigations Unit responded and took over the investigation. The scene remains active, and we are asking the public to avoid the area.
