** UPDATE ** Shooting Incident – Paulding County

Christopher James Lorentz (17 year old male) has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault in the shooting incident that occurred on Briar Patch Path in Paulding County on October 21, 2009. Lorentz is currently being held in the Paulding County Detention Center without bond.

The “lead” was gathered by an alert Paulding County Sheriff’s deputy that recognized a vehicle involved in an unrelated incident as matching the description of the vehicle that was used the night of the shooting. The deputy relayed his observations to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division. The information was immediately followed up on by detectives that ultimately led to the arrest of Lorentz.

This investigation is ongoing. Any additional updates will be made available if possible.

(Paulding County, GA) The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident last night, October 21, 2009, at approximately 8:00 p.m. at 61 Briar Patch Path Dallas, GA 30157 involving one male victim identified as Marlow Southall (19 year old male) of Dallas, GA.

The investigation in to this shooting is ongoing. There have been no arrest(s) made in this incident. The victim was last reported as being in stable condition. Additional details are unclear at this time. We hope to release additional information if appropriate when it becomes available.
