The Paulding County Sheriff's Office is releasing information about a recent stabbing on John Barber Rd.

Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Stabbing Incident

(Paulding County, GA) The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the early morning stabbing of a male victim that occurred at 106 John Barber Rd Hiram, GA 30141 this morning. The victim was identified as Michael Shiflett a white male in his late 50’s to early 60’s.

Investigators believe that the victim went outside this morning just before 5:00 a.m. to start his vehicle when he noticed someone standing beside his house. The victim approached the person to see who was on his property and why. According to the victim, the suspect told him that he was there to steal his car, and then the suspect presented a weapon. The victim began to struggle with the suspect. During the struggle the victim received several injuries including one puncture/stab wound. Investigators believe that the suspect was also struck during the struggle and my have visible marks to his head area.

The suspect has been described as:
• A white male;
• Early 20’s;
• Approximately 5’7 to 5’9 and 140 -150 lbs;
• Medium length brown hair just past his ears;
• Facial hair on his chin;
• The suspect was wearing all black clothing and a toboggan at the time of the incident.

The victim was transported by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
