Wilmington Police have arrested a juvenile male on gun charges.
On March 24th at approximately 2:03 p.m., a School Resource Officer assigned to Maurice Pritchett Academy was notified about a firearm that was located inside of a student’s backpack. The officer made contact with the 13-year-old male juvenile and took him into custody without incident. The officer recovered a .9mm handgun, an unloaded magazine, and 7 .9mm rounds of ammunition.
The 13-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited- Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $9,000 secured bail.
